Thank you kindly for placing your trust in me to provide your hematologic and oncologic care over the last many years as one of the providers with Mission Cancer + Blood. It has been an honor to know each and everyone of you, as well as your family members and friends. After much thought and consideration, I decided to semi-retire as of December 15, 2021.
Where are they now?
While full-time at Mission Cancer + Blood, I was honored to have an excellent team composed of the gifted and patient centered individuals at the left.
Cortney Bax, PA-C (far left) has joined Dr. Thomas Buroker's team.
Amber Rider, RN, OCN (center) has taken a position with Natera, a cutting edge genetic testing company.
Christy Newkirk (far right) has joined Dr. Josh Lukenbill's team as their scheduler.
Until recently, I have been a lifelong Iowan, but I have now relocated to Western North Carolina (WNC). I am not too far from a National Historic Site.

My goal is still to improve and maintain your overall health, and to empower you with an understanding of your condition and treatment plan. In Des Moines, I am honored to work as part of a group of caring, talented physicians and ancillary staff known as Mission Cancer + Blood (formerly Medical Oncology and Hematology Associates or MOHA) who are dedicated to the treatment of individuals with cancer and blood disorders.

Medical Oncology
I provide care for patients with cancer using treatments such as immunotherapy, hormone therapy and chemotherapy. I also coordinate care between other specialists to ensure the best outcomes.
Hematology
In addition, I also take care of individuals with blood cancers, bone marrow disorders and benign blood disorders.
